The company was founded by Mrs. Komal Talwar in 2006 with one employee faculty. She is a graduate from LSR College, Delhi (one of the top colleges in India) along with a degree in Law. Presently, the business is being run under her leadership and as a disciplined entrepreneur; she keeps a strict watch on overall responsibilities ranging from Business Development to innovation in services to HR policies. As a result of her efforts, TTC today is one of the most well recognized IP firm. She was honoured as the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year – Emerging Enterprise ” by the TiE Stree Shakti Awards 2011 and the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), 2010.


CEO, TT Consultants LLC


Dr. Nirmal S. Basi has a PhD in Biochemistry and is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has published numerous peer reviewed journal articles while serving as a Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD. With over 12 years of experience as a patent examiner at the USPTO he has reviewed hundreds of patent applications in the Biotech arena. Nirmal has also worked as a Patent Agent/Consultant with MDIP while working closely with clients to develop an asset of value based upon intellectual property (IP). He is one of the founding members of HS Manufacturing Group (HSMG LLC) and has served as their Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company has been actively working in finding ways to reduce the global reliance on plastic, silicone, and fluoro-chemical treated paper products. Dr. Basi is one of the co-inventor of a sugar fatty acid ester coating technology (patent pending) that when applied to cellulose surfaces increases their tensile strength and hydrophobicity.
Dr. Basi has counseled on the preliminary stages of invention conception, conducted prior art searches as well as prepared, filed, and prosecuted intellectual property applications in the USA and internationally.
Dr. Basi will be working from our Washington DC office to regularly interact with our clients, across the globe, to understand their requirements. In addition, he will be directly supervising the Patent & Office Action drafting team. Having been involved in all aspects of innovation Dr. Basi hopes to lead TT Consultants & XLPAT Labs to the forefront of IP technology information providers.

Dr. Stephen Gucker



Dr. Stephen Gucker is a former U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office (USPTO) examiner (20+ years in complex biotechnology) and is a registered U.S. patent agent. He is a proud graduate of The Johns Hopkins University (JHU) (Go Blue Jays!) and received his doctoral degree in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (part of the last class of the old Center for Brain Research (CBR)). Dr. Gucker was awarded a National Research Associate Fellowship from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to conduct his postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Gucker has been a consultant with engineers from Mission Research Corporation on a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program grant for Defense Technology Conversion, Reinvestment, and Transition Assistance for the Technology Reinvestment Project (TRP) by authoring the biotechnology section of a proposal for the development of new glucose biosensors for diabetics. Dr. Gucker's professional interest in brain/behavior relationships traces back to when he was a clinical research technician in the Neuropharmacology Research Laboratory at the JHU School of Medicine where he acted as a liaison between neurologists, psychiatrists, and psychologists as part of a clinical research team working with schizophrenic and dementia patients during which time he co-authored his first peer-reviewed publication.

Dr. Ing. Manfred Plischke

Dr. Manfred Plischke, holding a doctorate in Chemical Engineering, is a highly experienced IP professional. He started his career with an American multinational consumer goods company (Procter & Gamble) where he gained extensive experience in technology development, becoming (co-)inventor on numerous patents. He then moved into the IP division to become qualified as a European Patent Attorney. Subsequently, as independent patent attorney as well as strategic IP business consultant, he worked with numerous enterprises across the globe to develop and deploy targeted patent, IPR, and business strategies.


Vice President of Patent Analysis
Vineet Sharma holds a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Kurukshetra University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR, Hyderabad. He has been associated with TTC since past 8 years with focus primarily on Patent Prosecution (Filing Patent and trademarks in India, Filing PCT applications, preparing office action replies and handling Indian patent applications) and Project Management, assuring final deliverable quality. He has been regularly assisting various clients in preparing their patent strategies.


Vice President – Product Development


Sandeep Singh Kohli, a Registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent & Trademark Office, has been working in the domain of patents for almost 8 years now. Major focus of his work has been in the domain of biotechnology, Stem Cells, Immunology, Genetic engineering, use of cell phones as healthcare devices and drug discovery. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Patent Law from NALSAR, Hyderabad. He currently heads the Product Development division of the company and has been instrumental in the development of several innovative automation and data analysis tools such as XLPat® Add-Ins, XLPat® Dashboard, automatic claim chart generator, enhanced graphical analysis, and a search interface for PDF.


Vice President - Operations (Patent Research Wing)
Rahul Kinger, a Registered Indian Patent Agent, has been working with TT Consultants for the past 10 years. Rahul possesses a degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and is managing operations of Research Wing of the company. He is also involved in estimation and proposal making stage of potential projects in addition to routine work including team management, project management, hiring and mentoring of the team members. He is responsible for timely delivery of the reports, efficient operations, client interaction and regular monitoring of quality. He has significant experience in projects including Prior Art Searches, Evidence of Use, Infringement Analysis, Market Research, FTO Searches, Technology Landscape, Portfolio Analysis, Patent Licensing Support and Patent Drafting. His technical areas of expertise include Wireless Communications, Semiconductors, Memory Devices & Circuits, Computers (Hardware/Software), Graphics, Image Processing, Thermal Management, Consumer Electronics, Sensors, Web-based services & technologies, Cloud Computing and Network Security & Connectivity Solutions


Business Development Manager


Sameer Goel is currently working as Business Development Manager and has been with the company since past 6 years. He holds a degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Chitkara University and is majorly involved in Business Development at TT Consultants and handles overall business operations and development majorly in US, Canada, South Korea, China, Japan, Singapore etc jurisdictions. His core responsibilities include client relationship and management, making project proposals, team management, hiring talent in the team, client follow-ups, responding to client queries, timely report deliveries to clients and regular quality tracking via client feedback and mentoring and coaching of the team members.
Sam is based at the corporate headquarters in India and often shuttles to meet US & Asian Clients to better understand their requirements and bridges operation team accordingly to better serve them. He is working closely with many Fortune companies, assisting them in dealing with complex ITC patent litigation cases filed by NPE's. Further, he has worked with several research institutes, universities and start-up companies on IP issues related to "Go/No go decisions", and improving patent quality by checking whether a potential idea/invention is "novel" or not so that the costs of drafting and filing apatent application for some inventions that already exists is saved and is likely to be rejected by the patent office during examination phase.
Apart from his rich above mentioned experience, he has profound knowledge in patent search & analysis; and has worked on numerous patent searching projects like prior art search, Evidence of Use, Claim Chart Preparation and Landscape Whitespace Analysis etc. The major focus of his patent search & analysis work has been in the domain of software, telecommunication standards, wireless technologies, semiconductors, electronic devices, mobile handsets and other hardware related inventions. He has been a frequent attendee to various IPR conferences and forums across the globe. He has successfully represented the company at conferences like AIPLA, AIPPI, IPO, IPBC Asia and Global IP Convention (India) and many others.
